Those who are closest to me know that I unintentionally over-analyze things at times... Heck, I even catch myself analyzing my analysis... Case in point:

I'm walking through the grocery store a few days ago. I have a habit of leisurely browsing through the produce section first. Don't ask. It's what I do. We always have a variety of fresh fruit at our house: Pears, nectarines, kiwis, oh my! Good stuff...

Anyway, my last stop (due to the layout of the store) is the chip aisle. We just happened to be out of both tortilla chips and good ol' Lays Classic Potato Chips on the same day... So, I put both bags into my cart. Here is the question of the day though people:

Why did I feel the need to adjust the location of the produce in my cart, to where those bags were clearly visible next to the oh-so-unhealthy chips?

As I wandered to the magazine aisle, I was subconsiously forced to dwell on that!! Am I that concerned at what Mr. or Mrs. Joe Schmo thinks while I pass by them in the aisle?! "Yes, I'm a good mom! Yes, my family eats healthy! Yes, I know I could be in better physical shape, but I'm not just eating these chips! The fruit is right here too, see!?"

~Or maybe it's more for myself than anyone... ~Almost as if I need a reminder that "Yes, I do eat healthy. It's okay to have a couple of chips with a sandwich and fruit for lunch!"

Who the heck knows...

Food for thought....

I always wonder if people look at my cart and laugh, I buy lean cuisine for lunches for me cause they taste good an might as well eat a good lunch right, but I buy my dh and dd chocolate covered donuts.

I do that too! In fact, the other day, I purchase several convience meals like ready made Chicken pot pie and a couple of those skillet pasta thingies. I'm going out of town in a few days because my sister is about to have baby no. 2 in 13mo. and I want hubby and 2 of my kids to have something to eat. Anyway, I wanted to tell everyone who glanced in my cart, "I DO really cook but you see, I'm about to go away..." LOL

I totally do that too! Especially since I am a vegetarian but my husband likes to take frozen Boston Market's to work. I cover those with veggie burgers, fruits and veggies. I linked your blog to mine...
